About Our Programs
Technology Programs: Robotics and Coding (Spheros, Ozobots, and LEGO robotics), Minecraft, and Scratch coding
Engineering Fields: Mechanical, civil, marine, electrical, and aerospace

How to Register
Scroll through the guide to find your facility of choice and to see which classes are being offered at each location Or click on our drop down menu to choose a specific location.
Click the REGISTER button. for your class. You will be taken to the recreation facility's online registration portal. Follow the steps to register your child.

We adhere to the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines set out by the BC Provincial Health Officer and our recreation centre facility partners.
- Most classrooms have sinks for handwashing. Hand sanitizer is also generally available.

AEROSPACE ENGINEERING
Wednesdays | Oct. 4 - Nov. 15 | 2 - 3:30 pm
Using the Engineering Design Process, we’ll create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. Construct a shock absorbing system to protect your astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create your own air-powered rocket to launch into the sky, assemble a model blimp for flight, and more!

JR. MARINE ENGINEERING
Wednesdays | Oct. 4 - Nov. 15 | 4 - 5 pm
What causes something to sink or float? How can engineers help explore and protect the ocean? These questions and more are all explored in Junior Marine. In this class, our young engineers explore the concepts of marine engineering and mechanics, harnessing the power of water, and discovering designs that help us make the impossible, possible.

Apprentice Marine Engineering

What causes something to sink or float? How can engineers help explore and protect the ocean? These questions and more are all explored in Apprentice Marine. In this class, our young engineers use the concepts of marine engineering and mechanics to construct marine devices and vehicles to teach them all about water transport, exploring the underwater world, and harnessing the power of water. Come discover the designs that help make the impossible, possible!

Jr. Robotics & Coding with Ozobots - level 1

Attention all parents! Do you have a young Einstein at home who loves to tinker and create? If your child is a lover of all things robotic, then we've got the perfect class for them! In this exciting class, your child will be taken on a journey into the exciting world of coding, starting with some fun offline activities and then moving on to block coding using our amazing Ozobot robots and tablets. Note: No previous coding knowledge required

Apprentice Software Engineering

What’s more fun than playing an interactive video game? Writing one! Video sensing allows students to design and program their own video games and then test them by interacting with the program via webcam. In this Scratch program, students work together to create their own games, art, and musical instruments while exploring coding foundations. Get up and get moving!

Jr. Mechanical Engineering - Let's Make Toys!

This is a great class to learn the basics of engineering and develop your existing skills further! Our youngest engineers will be introduced to the concepts of energy, materials, and movement. Students will explore and construct their own toys that they can play with at home!

Apprentice Get Wired with Makey Makey
Tuesdays | Nov. 7 - Dec. 12 | 5:30 - 7 PM
A playdough video controller? A cardboard guitar that plays actual music? in this class, We'll make these crazy ideas a reality by applying the concepts circuitry, acoustical engineering, and video game design. Using Makey Makey Kits and the Scratch program, Students will discover new ways to interact with technology, all while creating unique designs in a fun collaborative environment. In the afternoon, get ready to unleash your inner speed demon as we build and race our own dragsters. With our air launcher, we'll test our designs and find out who has the fastest wheels. It's a day full of excitement, innovation, and epic races. Let's rev up those engines and race to victory!

What exactly do engineers do? In this class, we’ll explore different engineering disciplines like aerospace, mechanical, electrical, and more! Each week, we’ll put on our thinking caps and use the EFK Engineering Design Process to brainstorm, design, and build creative solutions to real-world engineering problems.

Robotics 101 with LEGO EV3 Robotics

Do you love robots? How about games? What if we could do both? Using our LEGO EV3 Mindstorms kits, you and your partner will learn how to build and program a robot to hit a ball, navigate a track using a light sensor, sumo wrestle another robot, and more! A great introduction to the world of robotics.
